| When was the center established? |
The Community Technology Center
started out as an after-thought: in 1992, we were offering
computer classes and an after-school program, and adult community
members started asking if they could use the computers in
the morning. In 1995, we made the computer lab available to
all community members on a structured basis. In 1997, we expanded
the hours and resources available in the Community Technology
Center. In February of 1998 we established the current format
for the center. |
What are the opening hours? |
The Community Technology Center is open from 9 am until 9
pm Mon-Fri
and 1-4pm Sat-Sun. |
What other activities take place in the center? |
We do not teach classes in the Community Technology Center.
It is only used as a publicly available community technology
space. and the other labs souble as classrooms at night. |
| What are the objectives of the center? |
To provide a space where all teens
and adults in the community can use information technologies
to achieve their own objectives. Frequent uses of our center
include homework, job searches, building computer skills,
running a small business and staying out touch with friends
and family. |
