Forever Young Foundation
The Forever Young Foundation(FYF), is a non-profit organization
which focuses on the development, security, strength
and education of children. The foundation began in 1993
when San Francisco 49er Quarterback, Steve Young, established
the charity to distribute funds through community outreach
programs that provided seriously ill and underprivileged
youth with appropriate therapeutic, academic and athletic
opportunities. Now Sun Microsystems has teamed up with
the FYF
to further that vision.
In that joint alliance, Sun's Academic & Research
Computing group and the Forever Young Foundation has
created the "Connect-a-Kid" program. This
program is designed to bring technology and innovative
applications to schools for teaching kids. A kick-off
event was held on November 4th, just for educators in
K-12, at the Disneyland Hotel.
All funding for the FYF comes solely from annual fund-raising
events, corporate and public contributions. All administrative
functions are performed by volunteers which ensures
that the money donated will directly benefit the organizations
serving children.
