*Note: We donate a lot of equipment to members of the East Palo Alto community. If you have a hardware item that is included in the "not acceptable" list or that does not meet the "minimum" requirements, please look at some of the other recycling links or refer to Techsoup's Hardware Recycling and Refurbishing directory for further assistance.

All hardware to be donated must be in working condition.

At this time we are unable to accept unsolicited donations. Please make an appointment to donate your hardware by email at donations.pi@pluggedin.org

Personal Computer (PC)

Monitors
Working monitors 17" and above only.

PC Donations
We will accept any Name Brand or Generic PC.

PC's to be donated should meet the following minimum requirements:

  1. Minimum of 64 Megabyte RAM
  2. Minimum of 2 Gigabyte Hard Drive
  3. Minimum of 266 MHz Processor Power

 

Pentium II
Any system meeting the minimum requirements.

 

Pentium III
Any system meeting the minimum requirements.
Minimum 450Mhz CPU
Minimum 64 - 128 Megabytes of RAM

 

Pentium 4
Any system meeting the minimum requirements.

 

We accept Intel Celeron and Zeon Processors.

 

Printer and Scanner Donations

Printer donations should meet the following minimum requirements:

  1. Black & White LaserJet's meeting the comparrison of an HP LaserJet II
  2. B&W DeskJet and InkJet
  3. Color Laser (Any)
  4. Color DeskJet and InkJet
  5. Any Color Scanner


Component Donations

Components to be donated should meet the following minimum requirements:

  1. Keyboard's and Mice should be PS/2 socket compatible or USB.
  2. CDROM's should be a minimum of 8X for IDE and 2X for SCSI.
  3. We will accept most PCI video, LAN, SCSI and miscellaneous Cards. Contact us about VESA type Cards.
  4. Memory should be a minimum of 32 MB per chip.
  5. CPU's should be a minimum of Pentium II 266 Mhz
  6. SCSI and IDE Hard Drives should be a minimum of 2 Gigabytes.

Networking Hardware Donations

Networking Hardware should be the following minimum requirements:

  1. Network Interface Cards (NIC) should be 10/100, 100 MB PCI or Motherboard integrated. We gladly accept gigabit Ethernet.
  2. Switches and Hubs should be 10/100, 100 MB or 1GB
  3. Wireless Access Points and Routers meeting the B and G standards.


Macintosh

Macintosh Monitors:
Working monitors 17" and above only.

Macintosh Donations
We will accept only Apple Brand Macintosh Hardware. See the list below for explanations of the different types of Hardware.

Macintosh donations should meet the following minimum requirements:

  1. Minimum of G3 Processor or 200Mhz Processor.
  2. Minimum of 64 Megabytes of RAM.
  3. Minimum of a 2 Gigabyte Hard Drive.
